  Quintus Junius Blaesus, who had quelled the Pannonian mutiny in AD 14; uncle of Sejanus, and so the favored choice for the African command against Tacfarinas.

  The acclamation 'imperator' by victorious troops was an old republican honor; Blaesus was the last private commander Tiberius allowed to receive it.
